In 2009 I began cooking my healthy soups in my own kitchen while fighting an aggressive breast cancer.
What began as a healing experiment for myself turned into gourmet magic that had my friends not only calling me “the soup guru” but asking to buy my one-of-a-kind creations. And just like that, Soupelina was born.
Soupelina aspires to give you the power of starting a healthy lifestyle to transform your life and the lives of your family and friends. Soupelina is redefining tradition with its impeccable attention to detail and commitment to locally sourced ingredients. Every herb, root, and leaf is organic and most everything is purchased daily at local farmers markets. With names like “Lentil Me Entertain You!”, “Sweet Coconut Thai Oh My!” and “Kale-ifornia Dreamin’,” we cook to delight our followers. We love to see people eat well; that’s what makes us happy!
For generations people enjoyed soup to nourish and heal, and they have also searched for the perfect soup to cure what ails them. I created Soupelina to make our world a healthier place. That’s my dream starting one cup of soup at a time, and together we can all become healthier, happier and stronger.
Are you ready to join me on my mission?

founder / soup guru / chef
Elina Fuhrman is the founder of Soupelina and the soup guru. Since moving to California in 2007, Elina fell in love with California’s zestful laid-back living and commitment to health, must-have quality food and purity of life. When Elina went vegan in 2009 she began whipping up her own healthy creations, but it was her soups that had everyone begging for more.
A travel journalist and mom to Madeline (22) and Isabelle (18), Elina reported for CNN and has written for The New York Times, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Conde-Nast Traveler, InStyle, Jezebel, Angeleno and numerous other publications. She also had a career in public relations with clients like Microsoft, HBO and Hughes Network Systems. Still a writer by night, Elina now spends most of her days dedicated to the growth of Soupelina.
